There are many railway networks operating Tennessee and they serve the residents of the country very well. Tennessee railroads are spread all over Tennessee and their network connects all the places in Tennessee. The specialty of Tennessee railroads is their qualitative service. Not only does the railroads of Tennessee offer a short and straight connection to the different places but they also offer fast traveling route also. This primary railway network of United States gives two stops in Tennessee, first it stops at Memphis and lastly near Dyersburg.


The tracks used by Amtrak railways in Tennessee are the Illinois Central package. Next to Amtrak is the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway popularly known as BNSF Railway. This is one of the biggest railway network in United States and serves Tennessee in many ways. Another important railroad in Tennessee is the Mississippi Tennessee Railroad. This is a class III form of railroad and serves places like Houston, Middleton, Mississippi and Tennessee. The former name of this railroad was Mississippi Tennessee Railnet.



Apart from these railroads, there are some small railroads also serving Tennessee. The eastern part of Tennessee is served by Eastern Tennessee Railway. Middle Tennessee is also served by small railroads of Tennessee like Central of Tennessee, South Central Tennessee, Tennessee Southern and many others. Separate railroads are there also for western part of the state too. Some small western railroads of Tennessee are South Rail, Kentucky West Tennessee RR and West Tennessee.
